Cairns Health’s Device Data Collection Policy

This privacy policy (“Policy”) governs the information that we collect through our monitoring device (“Device”) from users that choose to install the device into their household (“Users”) or from other members of Users’ households whose information the Device captures. Information may be shared with your healthcare provider, caregiver or other designated healthcare representatives designated by you (“Care Team”). By using the Device and by signing the acknowledgement form, you agree to the terms of the Policy on behalf of yourself and other members of your household.

Please note that, because the default mode of the Device is to be on and recording information at all times, it may also capture information relating to individuals other than the Users (or members of User households) who have agreed to this Policy. Even in those instances, we will process the information we collect consistent with the terms of this Policy. You may choose to turn off recording through the Device at any time (as described in the “Your Choices” section below).

What Information Does The Device Collect?

The purpose of the Device is to monitor Users’ vitals, sleep quality, audio responses and room context and movements by collecting radar and sound information, as well as information relating to other external factors, such as temperature, humidity, light, and vibration. In order for us to obtain the best results, the default mode is that the Device is on at all times and is always recording data, including sound information. The User may turn off data recording by utilizing the "Privacy Mode" function (further described below under "Your Choices").

How Do We Use The Collected Information?

We collect information through the Device in order to provide Users and your Care Team with information about health related information. We also use the information we collect to improve the Device, conduct analytics and research concerning the Device, and enhance our products and services more generally.
We may share the information we collect with other entities, including Users’ Care Team to assist us with these purposes in a manner that is consistent with the terms of this Policy.

How Do We Protect Your Privacy?

We take the following steps to protect your privacy:

We do not sell your information to any third parties.

We only share your information with Cairns Health employees, consultants, and vendors, including Users’ Care Team that will use the data to monitor and provide care to you.

Your Choices

You have the following choices with regards to the information we collect through the Device:

By pressing the "Privacy Mode" button, you can pause radar data recording, audio recording, and all other contextual sensors (such as room humidity or temperature) at any time. In this state, the Device will not record any sensor data.

You may contact us using the information below to delete specific windows of data from any sensor.
If you are an employee, you may request that we delete all of the information that we have collected through the Device.
